Academies are state-funded independent schools and in many cases, join an academy network or family.  

Academies are publicly funded independent schools.  The majority of the funding comes direct from central government.  The  Education Funding Agency  (formerly the YPLA)  will fund the annual running costs of the academies via a grant each academic year.  The sponsor has responsibility for the day to day running of the academy.  Oasis academies are sponsored by Oasis Community Learning, an exempt charity.

Staff and students of all faiths are welcome to be part of each Oasis Academy and faith is not a factor in the admissions criteria for the school.  The academies are 'schools of religious character' in order to enable Oasis' ethos of inclusion, which is grounded on the Christian faith, to be prominent in the school's character.

Oasis Academy Johanna offers a Breakfast Club beginning at 8am and After School Club finishing at 6pm.  For full information please visit the day structure section of the website.

Academy lunches are paid for online. Free Academy meals are available to those families in receipt of Child Tax Credit, Job Seekers’ Allowance or Income Support.  Please bring proof of your entitlement to the Academy office, where the relevant paperwork can be completed.

Any children who are unable to be collected on time (3.15pm) will be taken to the school office and kept there until 3.50pm, after which they will be placed in the After School Club facilities until such a time as they can be collected, there will be a charge of £11.

If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please contact the academy office before 8.45am.  If your child is unwell for consecutive days, please contact the academy on each day that they are unable to attend.

If you have a complaint about any aspect of the academy, please contact the main office where we will talk you through the relevant procedure.

No jewellery should be worn apart from small stud-type earrings.  Small discrete watches may be worn.  Any religious jewellery should be worn beneath clothing.

We do not allow children to bring toys, games or mobile phones with them to the Academy.  Such items will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.
