Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Transforming Learning

At Johanna we teach an exciting and creative curriculum that takes account of the latest research on how our children think and learn. We encourage our learners to achieve their very best and ensure they develop their skills and talents in all aspects of intellectual, social and physical development. The Academy is divided into the following stages:

Early Years & Foundation Stage: Nursery and Reception (4-5 years)

Key Stage 1: Years 1 and 2 (5-7 years)

Key Stage 2: Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (8-11 years)

Throughout their journey with us we try to involve our pupils in how their education is shaped. This is especially true for our Nursery provision, which is very child led. We want our young people to explore their learning environment and discover new things.

Our student council have also developed some 'Children's aims for learning':

  • To have fun learning and playing
  • To respect ourselves, each other and the wider community
  • To show good manners, we are kind to everyone in and outside of school
  • To appreciate diversity and understand that everybody is different and has different needs
  • To respect all faiths, cultures and abilities
  • To involve and use our local community
  • To make the most of where we live
