In a heartwarming ceremony last week, our newest treasure, the ‘heART room,’ was unveiled in a touching event. The cabin promises to be more than just a space, it’s a sanctuary for our pupils to be able to enhance their imagination, ability for expression and mental health/wellbeing.
The heART room isn’t a typical classroom. It’s a vibrant retreat where our pupils can immerse themselves in games, arts and crafts, and even specialised art therapy sessions. Every corner bursts with colour and creativity, with bright designs on the walls and blank chalkboards brimming with potential, as well as an abundance of supplies like paints, beads and jewels, ready to be created into works of art.
The opening ceremony was a testament to the dedication of the Oasis Nurture Programme, practised at our academy, advocating holistic development. Maryam Mahdavi, Programme Lead of Oasis Nurture, led a group of our enthusiastic pupils who participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Maryam sees the heART room as more than just a physical location, it represents as a symbol and a catalyst for pupils to be able to exceed emotionally.
“As we open the doors to the heART room, we’re not just creating a space for art and play, we’re creating a space for growth and healing. We have seen firsthand the transformative potential of attachment-based approaches in the lives of our pupils through Oasis Nurture.”
“The heART room is an embodiment of our commitment to providing every child with the tools they need to thrive, academically and emotionally.”
